Rehearsal
If there are more than four persons taking part in the wedding, a rehearsal should be planned. Normally, it is held the night before the wedding. It usually takes an hour, although it can be accomplished in less time if all the participants arrive promptly. Please make sure that everyone who will be participating in the ceremony is present. This includes the parents, ushers, attendants, ring bearer, flower girl, soloists, accompanists, etc. (written invitations are helpful to those attending, including a map of Central’s location for those unfamiliar with the area).

At the rehearsal, the ceremony is explained and practiced so that all persons involved will know their part. The Church Wedding Coordinator is present to guide the process and assist in the ceremony. Outside consultants may attend, but the Pastor and Wedding Coordinator of the church are in charge and will make all final decisions. The wedding is yours, of course, but the church staff reserves the right to set standards of decorum and good taste.

The arrangement of the celebration space allows for a limited number of exits, entrances, and movements, but there are variations and these will be open for consideration during the rehearsal. The Pastor and Church Wedding Coordinator will be open to suggestions and alternative possibilities as the ceremony is worked out during the rehearsal.

Please review the guidelines that relate to the Worship Center. If you have any questions, please consult the Church Wedding Coordinator.

If you are planning a rehearsal dinner afterwards and wish to use any of our facilities, please indicate to the Church Wedding Coordinator.

Rehearsal Items

Come prepared with flower girl baskets, bible pillow and any such items that will be used during the ceremony. An advanced copy of your program should be given to the Church Wedding Coordinator, Officiating Pastor, and Bridal Party members.

A bride shouldn’t walk down the aisle at the rehearsal empty-handed. One tradition, is to carry a bouquet made out of ribbons from the bridal shower or a mock bouquet.

Ceremony Formation

This is the traditional bridal party formation:

Note: Masking tape at the rehearsal is an invaluable tool for marking wedding party positions.

Sound Check:

The Church Wedding Coordinator needs to approve all wedding music to be played or performed prior to the rehearsal date. It is advised for all participating members (musicians, audio/visual) to be familiar with the layout and lighting of the Worship Center.

Reminder: To ensure a prompt and productive rehearsal, all members of the bridal party should arrive on time for the rehearsal.
